Description: Here's a fabulous sheet of unissued, uncut currency from the 1850s (or thereabouts) from the Citizens Bank of Louisiana. This beautiful sheet of four Five Dollar banknotes was printed by Rawdon, Wright, Hatch & Edson of New Orleans. The superb engraving is highly detailed and features Lady Liberty, cherubs, and a long-beaked bird (perhaps a pelican?) sitting on a nest, feeding several hungry chicks.
Size: approx. 8½"W x 13¾"H
Condition: Fine, I'd say. The sheet is generally quite clean, with light age toning and what I assume are hand-ripped edges. There's a tiny pinhole in the bottom margin, next to the color registration markings.
