Description: Here's a nice group of 4 vintage standard-sized matchbook covers with illustrations of antique automobiles. The cars featured in this group include a 1908 Maxwell, 1896 Ford's First Car, 1895 Duryea's Motor Wagon, 1904 Studebaker Electric, 1909 Hudson and 1908 Buick.
There's no printing on the inside.
Produced by The Diamond Match Co., New York
Actual Size: approx. 2" x 1.5" (closed)
Date: Not dated, but look to me to be from the 1950s or 1960s
Condition: Generally good, I'd say. The covers are lightly soiled and the striker strips all appear to have been used. All have at keast some additional damage to the striker strip area due to the removal of the staples that held the matches. Each one also has an additional set of staple holes which pass through the striker strip and both sides of the cover. (Please see scans.)
