Description: Here's a nice group of 7 vintage standard-sized matchbook covers with illustrations based on a single theme, "THE OLD WEST". They show typical "old west" scenes, such as a general store, a chuck wagon, steer roping, bronco riding, a stagecoach, wagon train, square dancing, a sheriff and prisoner in jail, an Indian sending smoke signals and fence building.
There's no printing on the inside.
Produced by The Diamond Match Co., New York
Actual Size: approx. 2" x 1.5" (closed)
Date: Not dated, but look to me to be from the 1950s or 1960s
Condition: Generally good, I'd say. The covers are lightly soiled and the striker strips all appear to have been used. Several have additional damage to the striker strip area due to the removal of the staples that held the matches. Each one also has an additional pinhole or set of staple holes which pass through the striker strip and both sides of the cover. (Please see scans.)
