Colorful French card depicting a few of the leisure activities found in Ancient Rome ("Rome (Antique)"). This design is essentially the same as the one used in the "Sports & Pastimes of All Nations" series issued by the Arbuckle Bros. Coffee Co. in 1893 (reputedly drawn by Frances Brundage, but not signed). It shows gladiators, chariot racing, discus throwing and embroidering.
The back advertises TAPIOCA DE L'ETOILE, which received a gold medal at the 1889 World's Fair, held in Paris.
