Description: Victorian Trade Card - MOKASKA COFFEE - Mokaska Manufacturing Co., St. Joseph, Missouri
Interesting old advertising card from the Mokaska Coffee Co. in a simple design showing sprigs of small white flowers and green foliage on a white background.
The back offers a free wagon "to any boy or girl who will save one hundred of our coffee wrappers and send us by mail the hands cut from the centre of the wrapper". It goes on to encourage those same children to pester their "Aunties, Cousins and Neighbors" to "save the wrappers for you."
Size: approx. 3-1/2" x 5-1/8"
Date: Not dated.
Lithographer: Not identified.
Condition: Good, I'd say. The card has a brownish stain near the top edge, but is otherwise just lightly soiled. The edges and corners are slightly worn and there's a small crease across the lower right corner. There's also a tiny pinhole near the right edge. (Please see scans.)
MULTIPLE ITEM SHIPPING DISCOUNT: I will ship up to 4 cards for the single base shipping charge shown. For purchases of more than 4 cards, the shipping charge will increase by just a small increment for every 4 additional cards.
