Description: Victorian Trade Card - VÉRITABLE EXTRAIT DE VIANDE LIEBIG - Compagnie Liebig, Paris, France
Humorous vintage French advertising card for Liebig's Extract featuring a group of four young boys in the woods, three of whom have apparently been trying to smoke pipes and are now rather sick to their stomachs. The fourth appears to be laughing at their predicament, as the caption reads "Ca va mal.......Toto commence Ă rire." There's a number "4" in the lower left corner, so I assume this is part of a series.
The back is covered with advertising (in French, of course) for the company's product.
Size: approx. 2.75" x 4.125"
Date: Not dated.
Lithographer: Not identified.
Condition: Good, I'd say. The front of this card is only lightly soiled, while the back carries a bit of glue residue from prior scrapbook mounting. The back also has a long, thin horizontal scrape through several of the words in the top line of text. The edges and corners are a bit worn and there's a diagonal crease across the lower right corner. (Please see scans.)
MULTIPLE ITEM SHIPPING DISCOUNT: I will ship up to 4 cards for the single base shipping charge shown. For purchases of more than 4 cards, the shipping charge will increase by just a small increment for every 4 additional cards.
