Description: Victorian Trade Card - LION COFFEE - Woolson Spice Co., Toledo, Ohio
Very pretty card offered as a "MIDSUMMER GREETING". It features one scene with a young boy fishing in a small stream, while his dog watches intently. Another scene has three people in a canoe paddling past a large waterfall. The woman in the center of the canoe is holding a red parasol. At the upper left are two red and blue birds on a branch, and at the bottom right is a bouquet of red roses.
The back carries the company's standard advertising with the profile of a lion and a branch of flowers.
Size: approx. 5.375" x 6.875"
Date: Not dated
Lithographer: Bufford
Condition: Just fair, I'd say. Although the card is only lightly soiled, it has a large surface scrape (on the boy's leg to the left of the large rose) and multiple smaller scrapes on the front. There's also a bit of extraneous paper stuck near the upper right corner. The edges and corners are slightly worn. (Please see scans.)
MULTIPLE ITEM SHIPPING DISCOUNT: I will ship up to 4 cards for the single base shipping charge shown. For purchases of more than 4 cards, the shipping charge will increase by just a small increment for every 4 additional cards.
