Description: Here's a somewhat vintage collection of 6 CD-ROMs containing a wealth of documentation for the IBM MVS Operating System. It's called the "Online Library Omnibus Edition". By my count there appear to be over 2,600 books, manuals, pamphlets, tutorials, and other documents included on the 6 discs.
The contents of each book is displayed using either IBM BookManager Library Reader/2, Library Reader for Windows, or Library Reader/DOS, all of which are included in the package.
The discs each include documentation for a different aspect of MVS, as follows:
DISC 1: System Control 1
DISC 2: System Control 2
DISC 3: Transaction Processing and Data
DISC 4: APPL Development; Image: Office; Publishing; Voice
DISC 5: System Control 3; Tutorials; OMF MPT Files
DISC 6: Networking
NOTE: The underlying Library Reader software appears to be 16-bit, created originally for DOS, Windows 3.1, and Windows 95. Generally speaking, it can be installed under 16-bit and 32-bit operating systems, but not 64-bit.
Date: 1997
Condition: Excellent, I'd say. These CDs were briefly used back in the day, but are clean and fresh. Each disc is still in its own individual plastic sleeve within a compact hardcover binder. I successfully tested an install of the Library Reader for Windows with a 32-bit OS (Windows 7), but it will not run in a 64-bit OS without a 16-bit emulator.
