Description: Here's a complete Boston Evening Globe newspaper published August 7, 1945, the day after the United States dropped an atomic bomb on Hiroshima, Japan. Most of the front page is devoted to that event. The newspaper is divided into 2 sections. The first section is mostly devoted to news articles, while the second section includes additional news plus the typical newspaper departments such as sports, obituaries, finance, society, theatre, comics, etc.
Size: approx. 24" x 16" (32 pages)
Date: August 7, 1945
Condition: Poor, I'd say, Unfortunately, this historic newspaper was simply folded over into a bundle (see last photo) and stored like that in a box for over 80 years. It is still complete and entirely readable, but the paper is very brittle, especially along the original horizontal fold, causing all the pages in the front section to separate to a significant degree (see first two photos). The second section is only slightly affected. The outer edges are noticeably ragged, with several tears. I didn't see any extraneous markings.
